The title sums it up pretty well. I lost the last two years of my blog.
I’ve always been very protective of my work and as a result I use a company called Backblaze to back up my computers every night. It costs me $5 a month and is worth every penny in peace of mind!! If my computer dies, I can restore my data from Backblaze, however Backblaze only keeps the data on my computers safe.
My blog was hosted on GoDaddy and at the end of last year, after another credit card breach somewhere I cancelled my Debit Card and ordered a new one… just to be safe, you know? Well, I got an email from GoDaddy, that dumped into my Spam folder, informing me that I needed to update my payment method for my GoDaddy hosting or it would be cancelled. I never saw the email. I went to update my Blog shortly before Christmas and my site was gone. I called GoDaddy in a panic and apparently, because my site had been cancelled over a month ago (I know, I know, if I posted more often I would have noticed, but it was the holidays!!) it had been deleted. Deleted. Gone. Forever.
I had put so much work into my site last year and it was all gone. Heartbroken I have done very little to bring back the site, but now it’s here again, minus two years. I found an old site on WordPress.com and backed that up, but it’s so old now.
Anyway, a new year and a new blog. Here you have it.
