When you get your first Real Estate Contract through a post hurricane gathering...

I mean, I’m a Real Realtor now!!  Let me expand on that for you…

It has been a hot and sweaty week.  Power went out on Sunday evening (10th) and did not come back on until Wednesday evening, but honestly, it was a fun couple of days!  We have fabulous neighbors.  We already knew that, but we banded together even more in the days after Irma.   With the huge tree sheltering our home from the sun, it wasn’t quite as hot as some of the other homes nearby, so the new family next door came over and spent a good amount of time around our table, and the kids spent time lying around the electric cord in the living room playing on their video games! (They had a generator, and they shared!)

Anyway, one morning the kids were playing and I was sitting with Miss O’B from next door drinking coffee when her phone pinged and she announced that her Sister-in-Law was dropping by.  Absolutely fine with me, the more the merrier.  Well, it turns out that Miss M. (the Sister-in-Law) is looking to buy a house, so of course, I absolutely can help her!  I will say that I honestly didn’t think I’d ever find a client…. ha! I mean, it’s easy enough to get the license, but finding clients is another thing altogether, but happened and I have a client!

But wait, there’s more!  Not only do I have a client, I have a contract! I found a home a little way down from her brother’s home (my neighbor) and we went over to take a look at it.  We looked, and Miss M decided she wanted to make an offer!  It’s a short sale, so I’ve no idea how long this is going to take, but we put in an offer this morning and it was accepted!  We are under contract!

*does a happy dance*

I do have to say that putting together the contract took me forever and it was exhausting and so incredibly stressful!  I had no idea what the heck I was doing and was so thankful for the notes I took in the contract classes during KW Ignite and my Mentor who took a look at it and told me where I had gone wrong and how to fix it.  Priceless.  I’m hoping this process gets quicker over time!
